Protection High Class of 1985 Holds 40th Reunion

Reunion Report

The Protection High School class of 1985 held a belated 40-year class reunion at the Protection Library Community Room on Saturday, Oct. 3.

The class met up around noon for conversation and followed with a potluck meal. The class of 85 graduated with 13, all 13 are still accounted for, and 10 were able to attend the reunion.

Those in attendance were: Scott DePriest (and spouse Patricia), of Wichita; Tim Peterson (and spouse Shelly), of Protection; Rosalyn Bryan, of El Dorado; Ryan Filson of Evansville, Ind.; Becky Luerman (and spouse Andy), of Ashland; Mark Loucks, of Otis; D.J. Riner (and spouse Lori), of Tulsa, Okla.; Bruce Ragoschke, of Watkins, Colo.; Jeanette Houghton, of Protection; and Kevin Troyer (and spouse Lynnae) of Lincoln, Neb.

The class was blessed to have teacher and coach Charles Furgason and class of 1984 member Mark Jellison stop by for a visit.

All enjoyed visiting, reminiscing, and a good time was had by all. On behalf of the class of 1985, we would like to thank all of the parents, teachers, town folk, and fellow classmates that helped us along the way.
