Ashland Celebrates Business Women’s Week

National Business Women’s Week is Oct. 18-24 and is observed during the third full week of October.

Next week honors women who work in business, highlighting their contributions to the economic and social fabric. These talented, driven women are our employers, our employees, our government and community leaders and family members who represent the highest ideals of the community.

Ashland Mayor Holly Fast recently signed a proclamation making Oct. 18-24, 2026 as National Business Women’s Week in Ashland.

The first National Business Women’s Week was launched in 1928 by the National Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs. Within a decade it became a nationwide celebration. The week recognizes the growing presence and impact of women in business, from entrepreneurship to corporate leadership. The observance encourages recognition of these achievements and inspires future generations of women leaders. It applauds the contributions of women not only in the workplace but also their contributions to the financial stability of their families, often becoming their family’s breadwinner.

Since its founding in 1947, Ashland Business and Professional Women’s Club has promoted working women in the community by providing informative and educational programs and supporting women through educational scholarships and community recognition.

This year Ashland BPW plans to have a display of activities within the community at the Ashland Library. Stop by and see their contributions to the community.
