The blaze maple trees are starting to do their thing, they live next door at the Ferrins, there are five of them.  They are starting to drop the bright red leaves, and they will be spectacular.

We welcome visitors from Protection to church, Gayla, Elle, Thomas and R.J. Redger. They have been over several times and we enjoy having them.

Frank Lane from Pennsylvania is in town, he used to live in the old parsonage near the church, painted red with a shite star on front.  He trapped coyotes for local farmers, skinned them and sold the pelts.  He lived here with his wife Debby, and we all enjoyed their company.  She played cards with us, I sure miss cards.  Frank came to church last week and heard that we had gotten WIFI at the church, but the TV wasn’t compatible, so he went and bought a new one and gifted it to the church from him and his wife, Debby.  Thank you so much for your generosity.  It turned out that part-time minister, Joe Koechner, gave the church $300 to buy a new TV, it’s a happy place.

Our heater wouldn’t work when we tried to turn it on this week.  We called Kat Construction but Kelsy was on vacation, so he sent two guys out and they tried their best, but no cigar.  They left two space heaters and a promise that Kelsey would be back on Saturday, so we spent three days with minimal heat.  The electric blanket became our best friend, as it got down to 32 degrees one night.  Kelsey got it fixed on Saturday.  Thanks.

While Barbara Delaney was on a trip recently, her boys and grandson, Jaylen, put down new floors in her living room and painted.  It looks great, she’s had the same carpeting for years, so this is a nice change.

The new house going up behind Neal Timmer’s place made an appearance this week.  It is being done by Morton Builders and they got the whole structure framed, now they have to fine tune it.

The vultures in Wilmore are a curious phenomena and residents always link our arrivals and departures to them.  They arrive about the end of March when the weather becomes more tolerable and they leave about the first of October when the cold creeps in.  I don’t know where they go but I prefer them gone, as to circling overhead all day.  It was 32 degrees this week, they are all gone.

Going to the Bucklin Rest Home is kind of like going to a neighborhood event.  It’s a great environment and we get to see all the people we know pretty quickly.  They have very friendly workers also.

Thanks for having me, see you next week.  Come ride the carousel.
