U.S. Rep. Ron Estes (R-Kan.) paid a visit to Comanche County recently.
“It was great to be in Coldwater and hear about how the Rural Health Transformation Program is making a positive impact on the community,” Estes said. “I appreciate Hospital Administrator Lisa Brooks and her team who are working to improve the lives of Comanche County residents through stronger health outcomes, including the Kansas Frontier Behavioral Health Integration Collaborative.”
Estes said rural healthcare in places like Comanche County is “exactly why we included the Rural Health Transformation Program in the Working Families Tax Cuts last year.”
“As a son of rural Kansas, and with my mom still living on our century farm here in the state, I know just how critical it is that Kansans have access to quality health care close to home,” he said. “It was also impressive to see the work on the hospital’s new physical therapy facility.
“I appreciate the work Comanche County Hospital is doing, and I’m grateful for City Council member Gary Haulmark, Lisa Brooks, and the dedicated physicians, nurses and staff advancing health care for Kansans in and around Coldwater.”
While in Coldwater, Estes was also able to visit the restored Chief Theater – “a gem here in south central Kansas” – and talk with Emergency Manager Britt Lenertz and Stephanie Salisbury with Grit and Grace Counseling.”
