Children spent the week learning, creating and working together during Vacation Bible School at The First Christian Church, where this year’s theme reminded them that God’s timing and plan are perfect.
Seventeen children participated in the weeklong event, with help from five junior high and high school volunteers, along with numerous adult volunteers who helped lead activities and make the program possible.
This year’s theme, “Beat the Clock,” focused on trusting God’s timing and following His plan. Throughout the week, children took part in games, snacks, crafts and escape rooms where they solved puzzles and clues to move through each challenge.
“The kids have loved it,” organizers said.
The theme verse for the week was Isaiah 41:10: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Each day focused on a different lesson from the Bible.
On the first day, “Time to Begin,” children learned about Noah and how God delivered him and his family through the flood. The lesson focused on how God can also deliver people from sin.
The second day, “Time to Live,” focused on Daniel and his faithfulness to God, even when he was thrown into the lions’ den. Children learned that God provides for His people and offers salvation through Jesus.
During “Time to Stand for Jesus,” children studied the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who stood firm in their faith despite facing the fiery furnace.
The fourth day, “Time to Go,” focused on Jonah and how God guides people when they choose to follow Him. Children learned that God offers second chances and calls people to trust His direction.
The final day, “Time is Now,” encouraged children to make the decision to follow God. Using the story of Esther, children learned that God has a purpose and plan for each person.
Organizers said the week provided an opportunity for children to grow in faith while building friendships and making memories with others in the community.
