Brian Waldschmidt won the Republican primary for the District One county commissioner seat after unofficial vote tallies were announced following Tuesday’s elections.
Waldschmidt received 206 votes while Janice Calhoun received 152 votes. District One was the only county commissioner seat up for election. Waldschmidt will be unopposed in the general election.
Voters also decided the Republican nominee for the District 116 State House of Representatives seat. Kyle Hoffman won that primary election, receiving 497 votes, while Herb Landwehr received 410 votes. Hoffman will run unopposed in the general election.
The only other county race was for Harper County Attorney, for which Brandon Ritcha ran unopposed. In township elections, four Republicans and one Democrat ran unopposed. The Republicans were Aaron Smith for Township #1, Mary Waldschmidt for Township #2, Innslee Albright for Township #3 and Clyde Ghere for Township #5. Democrat Corky Befort ran for Township #6.
