SCHS Volleyball Holds Third Seed in Regional

The South Central volleyball team is currentlythird in Class 1A Division 1 Region 3, going into the final week of the regular season.

The Lady Timberwolves are 19-10, the same record as St. John-Hudson. South Gray is currently in first in Region 3 with a 27-1 overall record, while Victoria is second with a 16-8 overall record.

South Central played at St. John-Hudson Saturday and beat the host Lady Tigers in two, 25-17, 25-20. That gives the Lady Timberwolves the tiebreaker over the Lady Tigers in Regional seeding.

SCHS also faced Ingalls Saturday and lost a close match in two games, 25-21, 25-23.

On Tuesday, the Lady Timberwolves hosted Bucklin, Minneola and Pawnee Heights for senior night. SCHS beat Bucklin 25-15, 25-12, beat Minneola 25-15, 25-15 and beat Pawnee Heights 25-13, 25-11.

The Lady Timberwolves head to Kiowa County this Saturday, Oct. 10 for the Southern Plains League tournament. They will then head to Ashland Tuesday, Oct. 13 to face the host team and Moscow.

South Central is in a Regional that includes Central Plains, Elkhart, Kinsley, Kiowa County, La Crosse, Meade, Minneola, Pratt Skyline, South Gray, Spearville, St. John-Hudson and Victoria. The top four seeds in the Regional will host tournaments, with the top two teams advancing to Sub State play.
