Harper County: Public Hearing 6-17-26

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN AND TO ALL PERSONS INTERESTED:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Harper Planning Commission on June 17, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. to consider the adoption of amendments to the Zoning Regulations of the City of Harper, Kansas.

PERMITTING BOARDINGHOUSES AND LODGINGHOUSES AS A SPECIAL USE OR CONDITIONAL USE WITHIN R-1 SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICTS AND R-2 TWO-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICTS WITHIN CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF HARPER, KANSAS. 

If as a SPECIAL USE, the proposed amendments would include, but are not limited to:

To be added to: 

CHAPTER 50 ARTICLE VII. DIVISION 8. SECTION 50-381(b). Use Regulations (R-1) 

(11) Boardinghouse or lodginghouse. 

If as a CONDITIONAL USE, the proposed amendments would include, but are not limited to:

CHAPTER 50 ARTICLE VII. DIVISION 8. SECTION 50-381(c). Use Regulations (R-1) 

(4) Boardinghouse or lodginghouse. 

Copies of the proposed amendment to the Zoning Regulations are available to be reviewed at the City Clerk’s office at City Hall 201 W. Main St. Harper, Kansas during regular business hours. After hearing the views and wishes of the public, the Planning Commission may close the hearing and consider the adoption of the amended Zoning Regulations and, if adopted, may be referred to the Governing Body of the City of Harper, Kansas for consideration of approval by Ordinances. Said public hearing may be recessed and continued from time to time without further notice.
