Grant County: Commission Minutes 4-6-26

MINUTES OF BOCC REGULAR MEETING 

The Board of Commissioners of Grant County, Oklahoma (BOCC) held a regular meeting on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 9:00 am. Notice of the Meeting, including agenda, was posted at both entrances of the Grant County Courthouse, Medford, OK, Thursday, April 2, 2026, prior to 9:00 am. in accordance with Title 25, §301-314 O.S. 

Stinson called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. After roll call, a quorum was acknowledged. Present were Steve Stinson, Keith McClure, and Craig Fredrick. Also present were Rachelle McCaleb as Secretary and Penny Huff. Teleconferencing was enabled to comply with the Open Meetings Act. Out of the commissioners Stinson, Fredrick and McClure used their signature stamps and hand signed as well. 

Steve Stinson said a prayer and McClure led the flag salute. 

McCaleb acknowledged the agenda was properly posted in compliance with the Open Meeting Act. 

McClure moved to approve Transfer of Appropriations. Fredrick seconded. Stinson – aye; McClure – aye; Fredrick- aye; Motion carried. 

Fredrick moved to approve Blanket Purchase Orders. McClure seconded. Stinson – aye; McClure – aye; Fredrick – aye; Motion carried.

Fredrick moved to approve request for reimbursement – Election Board Secretary for March, 2026 –

Stinson moved to approve request for reimbursement -District Attorney for March, 2026 – $359.11. McClure seconded. Stinson – aye; McClure – aye; Fredrick – aye; Motion carried. 

McClure moved to acknowledge Jail Report for March, 2026. Fredrick seconded. Stinson -aye; McClure -aye; Fredrick -aye; Motion carried.

No action on Grant County owned property.

Stinson moved to approve payment of $34,304.57 to IRS for back payroll taxes/ penalties from contingency fund. Fredrick seconded. Stinson -aye; McClure -aye; Fredrick -aye; Motion carried. 

No action on current Grant County Burn Ban. Will let expire. 

County Clerk’s office will schedule a benefit fair for supplemental vendors. 

Concealed Carry class for County employees is currently scheduled for April 29, 2026. Employees wishing to attend the class must have their application and waiver forms turned into the County Clerk’s office prior to class time. 

McClure stated D1 – normal grading. They are getting the spray truck and mowers ready. 

Fredrick stated D2 -they are getting the sprayers and mowers up and running. 

Stinson stated D3 -looking for season mowing help. They will also start mowing and spraying. Stinson will attend the OPEH&W meeting this Thursday.
