ORDINANCE NO. G-1274-25-04
AN ORDINACE CONSENTING TO THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE CITY IN THE KANSAS MUNICIPAL ENERGY AGENCY.
WHEREAS, K.S.A. 12-885 et seq. (the “Act”) provides that two or more cities may create a municipal energy agency for the purpose of planning, studying and developing supply, transmission and distribution facilities and programs, and for the purpose of securing an adequate, economical and reliable supply of electricity and other energy, and transmitting the same for distribution through the distribution systems of such cities; and
WHEREAS, certain cities have heretofore by agreement (the “Agreement”) created the Kansas Municipal Energy (the “Agency”), and
WHEREAS, the City of ATTICA, Kansas (the “City”) is qualified for membership in the Agency as a city organized and existing under the laws of Kansas and authorized by such laws to engage in the local distribution and sale of electrical energy; and
WHEREAS, it is hereby deemed advisable that the City become a member of the Agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ATTICA, KANSAS: SECTION 1. The City is hereby authorized to become a member of the Agency.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in force and take effect from and after its adoption and publication once in the official newspaper of the City.
Passed by the governing body of the City of ATTICA on October 1st, 2025, and SIGNED by the Mayor.
