Pond Creek Public Works Minutes 1-16-26

Pursuant to the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act 250 O.S. sec, 301-314 and according to the posted agenda, the Pond Creek City Council met January 16, 2026, at the city office building, Pond Creek, Oklahoma.  The meeting was called to order at 12:07 P.M. by Mayor, Jake Streck.  Council members present were Austin Peterson, Tony Shaffer, and Cody Daft.  Others present were Brandi Gibson Deputy Clerk/ Collector; Art Curl, Business Manager; Chris Gibson, Superintendent; Mike Payne, Police Chief and Police officer David Geebers.  

Guests present were Justin Young and Austin Matlock 

A motion was made by Councilman Peterson and seconded by Councilman Daft to approve the minutes of the December 11, 2025, regular council meeting.  The motion carried with council members voting: Austin Peterson, Aye; Tony Shaffer, Aye; and Cody Daft, Aye.  

 The treasurer’s report was reviewed.  

A motion was made by Councilman Peterson and seconded by Councilman Daft to approve payment of vendor invoices.  The motion carried with council members voting: Austin Peterson, Aye; Tony Shaffer, Aye; and Cody Daft, Aye.  

 Reports were given by City Superintendent, Chris Gibson; Business Manager, Art Curl; and Mayor, Jake Streck. 

A motion was made by Councilman Daft and seconded by Councilman Peterson to pay off the note to the USDA Rual Development to pay off the Sewer Lagoon.  The motion carried with council members voting: Austin Peterson, Aye; Tony Shaffer, Aye; and Cody Daft, Aye.  

A motion was made by Councilman Peterson and seconded by Councilman Shaffer to adjourn the meeting.  The motion carried with council members voting: Austin Peterson, Aye; Tony Shaffer, Aye; and Cody Daft, Aye. 

The City of Pond Creek has complied with the Open Meeting Law of the Oklahoma Statutes.
