RESOLUTION: R-10-25 / Edelman “Burnt House” Demolition HEARING
A RESOLUTION FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE AND PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF A HEARING BEFORE THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ATTICA, KANSAS, AT WHICH TIME THE OWNERS, THEIR AGENTS, LIENHOLDERS OF RECORD AND OCCUPANTS OF THE STRUCTURES LOCATED IN SAID CITY HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED MAY APPEAR AND SHOW JUST CAUSE WHY SUCH STRUCTURES SHOULD NOT BE CONDEMNED AND ORDERED REPAIRED OR DEMOLISHED AS DANGEROUS OR UNSAFE STRUCTURES, OR UNFIT FOR HUMAN HABITATION.
WHEREAS, the Building Official of the City of Attica has found that the structures on the properties as described are in disrepair and are unsafe or dangerous; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ATTICA, KANSAS, THAT:
Section 1. A hearing will be held on the 19th day of November 2025 at 5:pm at City Hall, 127 North Main Street, Attica, Kansas 67009, at which time the owners, the agents, lienholders of record, occupants and other interested parties of the structures located on the following described properties may appear and show cause why the structures should not be condemned and ordered repaired or demolished.
STREET ADDRESS: 221 North Garfield / LEGAL: ATTICA, S0, T0, R00, BLOCK 18, Lot N2 OF LOT 011 AND ALL OF 12, 10080 SQUARE FEET.
Section 2. Publication. The City Clerk shall cause this Resolution to be published once each week for two consecutive weeks on the same day of each week, and shall otherwise give notice for such hearing in the manner provided by K.S.A. 12-1750 et seq.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and signature.
