Sheriff Part of Golf Tourney Team Champs

Harper County Sheriff Tracy Chance was a member of the Eureka Herald team that won the 2025 Kansas Press Association golf tournament this past Thursday at Andover’s Terradyne Country Club.

Chance joined Eureka Herald Owner and Publisher Robin Wunderlich and Eureka Herald employee Lexie Biering and Greenwood County Sheriff Heath Samuels to shoot a nine-under 62 to hold off the M3 Publishing, LLC team, which was seeking it’s fifth straight KPA title. The M3 Publishing – parent company of The Harper Advocate – team consisted of Owner Jason Jump, Micah Jump, Kyle Meireis and Kory Meireis. They were two shots behind with a seven-under 64.

It was the second straight year the tournament was held at Terradyne after a one-year stop at Auburn Hills in Wichita and a three-year stint at Sand Creek Station in Newton. The annual event is a fundraiser for the KPA Foundation.
