ORDINANCE NO. G-455
AN ORDINANCE RELATED TO ZONING REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF HARPER, KANSAS, AND BOARDING AND LODGING HOUSES AMENDING SECTION 50-381(C) USE REGULATIONS, AND SECTION 50-913 ADDITIONAL HEIGHT, AREA AND USE REGULATIONS OF THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF HARPER, KANSAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF HARPER, KANSAS:
SECTION 1. That Harper City Code Section 50-381 is hereby amended as follows:
Subsection (c) amended to include:
(4) Boardinghouse and Lodginghouse.
SECTION 2. That Harper City Code Section 50-913 be amended as follows:
(24) Boardinghouse and Lodginghouse
a. Specific Requirements. A conditional use permit is required for each boardinghouse or lodginghouse. The following standards shall apply unless specifically waived as part of the conditional use process:
1. The residence shall be owner-occupied.
2. Occupancy shall not exceed 10 non-related persons.
3. The use shall comply with the Home Occupation requirements of Sec. 50-926
4. One off-street parking space shall be provided for each lodging room, plus one additional space for the owner.
5. Parking shall be buffered from adjoining neighbors by fencing and/or landscaping compatible with the residential character of the neighborhood.
6. No signage shall be permitted.
7. Boardinghouse and lodginghouse permits shall be renewable every two years with no additional fees
SECTION 3. That Sections 50-381(c) and 50-913 of the City Code of the City of Harper, Kansas are hereby amended.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after it’s passage and publication in the official newspaper.
