Kingman County: Request for Bids 6-25-26

REQUEST FOR BIDS 

Notice is hereby given that Kingman County, Kansas is soliciting bids for construction of KINGMAN COUNTY 2026 Pavement Improvements. The project consists of pavement repairs in Kingman County, KS along SW 90°1 Ave. from US Hwy 54/400 to 0.17 mi south of US Hwy 54/400 (0.17 miles), SW 50th St from SW 60th Ave. to 0.5 mi east of SW 60°1 Ave. (end of pavement) (0.5 miles), and SW 70th St at intersection with SW 40°1 Ave (50 feet). Total length is approximately 0.68 miles and will include a 2″ hot mix asphalt (HMA) overlay, surface milling, tie-ins, shouldering, pavement markings to match existing, traffic control, HMA patching, and culvert pipe replacement along SW 50th St. Kingman County shall provide all of the funds required for this project. All Federal, State and County regulations must be complied with. Online Bids (vBids) for the proposed construction will be received by Kingman County via QuestCDN Virtubid until 2:00 pm local time July 16, 2026. Bids will be presented to the Kingman County Commissioners at their meeting in the Kingman County Courthouse Commission room at 10:00 a.m. local time July 20, 2026. 

All Bidders are to be prequalified with the Kansas Department of Transportation, as outlined in Section 102 of the KDOT Standard Specifications or receive approval to bid the project from the owner. 

All bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond or a Certified or Cashiers check in the amount of 5% of the total bid. Checks or bonds are to be made payable to Kingman County and serve as a guarantee of the sincerity and integrity of the bidder, and shall be forfeited to the County if said proposal or bid is accepted and the bidder fails to execute the contract and file the required statutory and performance bonds as required in the contract documents. 

Work will commence no sooner than the date of the signed contract (earliest start date) and no later than October 1, 2026 (late start date). All work shall be completed within 13 working days after the Notice to Proceed. Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents may be examined at the County Clerk’s Office in the Kingman County Courthouse, County Public Works Office, and at the Engineer’s Office at the following address:

A contractor may view the contract documents at no cost prior to deciding to become a Planholder.
