ORDINANCE G1295-26-02 ACL / Attica City Library BOARD TERMS
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING BOARD TERMS/ AMOUNT OF TIME INDIVIDUALS CAN SERVE ON THE ATTICA CITY LIBRARY IN ATTICA, KANSAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ATTICA, KANSAS:
WHEREAS the City of Attica supports the provision of the quality of the Attica City Library (aka ACL) service for the community.
WHEREAS the ACL Board shall consist of seven (7) Board Members who shall be suggested and approved by the existing Library Board and then finally, appointed by the Mayor.
WHEREAS the ACL Board Members shall be appointed for four (4) year terms but as to not exceed three (3) terms. WHEREAS any retired ACL Board Member, must wait one (1) year before serving another term. WHEREAS the ACL Board Members shall consist of Attica residents and up to one (1) rural member. WHEREAS the ACL Board Members shall not receive compensation for their services as such but shall be allowed their actual necessary expenses in attending meetings and in carrying out their duties as members.
WHEREAS the ACL Board Members may be removed for cause at any time by Attica Mayor in accordance with the ACL Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BYTHE GOVERNING BODYOF THE CITYOF ATTICA, KANSAS AS FOLLOWS: Passed by the Governing Body Attica, Kansas this 20th day of May, 2026.
