Grant County: Commission Minutes 4-27-26

MINUTES OF BOCC REGULAR MEETING 

The Board of Commissioners of Grant County, Oklahoma (BOCC) held a regular meeting on Monday April _ 27, 2026, at 9:00 am. Notice of the Meeting, including agenda, was posted at both entrances of the 

Grant County Courthouse, Medford, OK, Friday, April 24, 2026, prior to 9:00 am. in accordance with Title 25, §301-314 o.s.

Stinson called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. After roll call, a quorum was acknowledged. Present were Steve _Stinson, Keith McClure, and Craig Fredrick. Also present were Rachelle McCaleb as 

Secretary, Kaden Hamm, Brian Hobbs, Keb Lehenbawer, Penny Huff, and Tim Irvin entered at 9:15am. Telec?nferencmg was enabled to comply with the Open Meetings Act. Out of the commissioners Stinson Fredrick and McClure used their signature stamps and hand signed as well. 

Steve Stinson said a prayer and McClure led the flag salute. 

McCaleb acknowledged the agenda was properly posted in compliance with the Open Meeting Act. 

Kaden Hamm with Cintas is a new representative out of Enid. He is here to provide information that Cintas is in the process of acquiring UniFirst. The approval will take about another year. He has also provided sample garments for the districts. Cintas has their own garments as well as a Carhartt line available. If there are any additional questions or information needed, he is available to attend another meeting or speak with the districts. 

Brian Hobbs is a House District 38 candidate who was born and raised in Newkirk. He is a 5th generation Oklahoman. He has been endorsed by General Michael Flynn and looks to receive the endorsement of the OK2A organization. He has spent time helping push legislation and move bills for Oklahoma. He is familiar with County funding and fighting for money for our counties. He would love to have Grant County’s support and vote.

Discussion to assist Wakita Fire Department under lnterlocal Agreement. Grant County District 1 plans to scrape topsoil and haul dirt to the Wakita Fire Department to prepare a new pad for adding onto the 

existing fire station. Jerry Seely, the owner of our shale pit, is donating the dirt and we will haul and pack it. We appreciate our fire departments, and we will always support any need they have that aligns with 

our resources and team skills. 

Dates to remember for Grant County employees: County Employee Concealed Carry Class –

04/29/2026, OPEH&W Open Enrollment ends 05/29/2026, Catapult Health at-home check up 

05/31/2026-06/30/206, Benefit Fair for supplemental insurance 05/20/2026 and Globe Life here 

04/30/2026. 

McClure stated D1 -hauling river gravel and shale. Normal maintenance 

Fredrick stated D2 -shredding trees that have overhang on roads. Moving rock on Osage to help a 

couple of residents. Mowing and grading 

Stinson stated D3 -grading and filing holes after the rain. Regular maintenance and business as usual. Stinson will attend class in Woodward on Tuesday and a legislative meeting at ACCO on Wednesday. 

No new business.
