On November 13, 2025, the City of Kingman, Kansas, adopted Ordinance No. 2149 amending Section 15-304 of the Code of the City of Kingman to adopt updated interconnection standards for customer-owned distributed energy systems and to implement state-law requirements for distributed generation. The ordinance adopts by reference new interconnection standards, imposes caps on total interconnected customer-owned generation, establishes an interconnection application fee, sets billing and compensation provisions for excess customer-generated electricity, and grandfathers existing customer-owned systems under prior compensation terms until the property changes ownership.
