ORDINANCE NO. 2147 SUMMARY

On September 11, 2025, the City of Kingman, Kansas, adopted Ordinance No. 2147 amending Section 8-2A10 of the Code of the City of Kingman relating to penalties for violations of the Environmental Code; the ordinance authorizes prosecution in municipal court after issuance of an order of violation and failure to cure or request a hearing, sets a maximum penalty of a $1,000 fine and/or 179 days in jail, establishes mandatory minimum jail, fine, and probation requirements for repeat offenders within five years, clarifies that each day a violation continues is a separate offense, repeals the existing section, and takes effect upon publication.
