RESOLUTION NO. 2025-14
A RESOLUTION CONTINUING THE HEARING BEFORE THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF KINGMAN, KANSAS, CONCERNING THE STRUCTURE LOCATED AT 425 EAST A KINGMAN, KANSAS.
WHEREAS, the enforcing officer of the City of Kingman, Kansas, did on the 20th day of May, 2025, file with the Governing Body of said city, a statement in writing that the structure, hereinafter described, is unsafe and dangerous.
WHEREAS, on the 12th day of June 2025, the Governing Body adopted a resolution to hold a hearing on the 14th day of August, 2025, in the commission chambers for the owner, his or her agent, any lienholders of record, or any occupant or other parties in interest to appear and show cause why such structure should not be condemned as an unsafe or dangerous structure and ordered repaired or demolished, and to give such parties notice of said hearing according to law.
WHEREAS, the new owner of the property, Gene Larson, appeared before the Governing Body on the 14th day of August, 2025. The enforcing officer and the new owner presented evidence and information to the Governing Body. There were no appearances by any purported lienholders, occupants, or other parties in interest. After the evidence was presented, the owner and the governing body agreed to continue the hearing to allow the owner time to complete certain tasks in relation to the property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF KINGMAN, KANSAS:
That the hearing is continued to the 9th day of October, 2025, before the Governing Body of the City at seven o’clock p.m., at Kingman City Hall in the commission chambers located at 324 North Main St., Kingman, KS 67068, at which the new owner of the structure located at:
LOTS 6 AND 7 IN BLOCK 37 IN EAST ADDITION TO THE TOWN OF KINGMAN, KINGMAN COUNTY, KANSAS,
More commonly known as 425 East A, Kingman, Kansas. At the continued hearing, the owner, the owner’s agent, any lienholders of record, occupants, and other parties in interest may appear and be heard and present evidence.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution shall be mailed to the owner of record of the property.
