Kingman 8G Boys Take Second at League Meet

CONWAY SPRINGS – The Kingman Middle School 8th-grade track team took second at the nine-team Central Plains League meet at Conway Springs recently.

The Eagles scored 123 points, 17 points behind meet champion Cheney. Seth Siemens set a new school record in the 200-meter hurdles with a time of 27.25 seconds. He took first place in that event, the 75-meter hurdles, and the 400-meter dash. Teammate Owen Pearce added first-place finishes in the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs.

The 7th-grade team scored 57 points to place fourth.

Jason Jump is an award-winning journalist and photographer. He has a wide range of education and experience. Jump started out his newspaper career as a sports editor for a daily paper in western Oklahoma. After a short stint in journalism he went on to coach basketball and teach from the junior high classroom all the way to college.
