NOTICE OF PUBLICATION
TO: The Unknown Heirs, Executors, Administrators, Devisees and Assigns, Immediate and Remote, of Hazel Lena Schutte Mays, deceased; and the Unknown Heirs, Executors, Administrators, Devisees and Assigns, Immediate and Remote, of Kathleen Hazel Venters a/k/a Kathleen Puckett, deceased (collectively, the “Publication Defendants”), whose identities and residences are unknown after due diligence.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a petition has been filed against you in the District Court of Grant County, Oklahoma, in Case No. CV-2025-13, by Plaintiffs, Adam Holloway and Travis Holloway. This summons by publication is specifically directed to the Publication Defendants identified above.
Nature of the suit. This is an action to quiet title and determine death and heirship concerning the following real property situated in Grant County, Oklahoma (the “Property”):
1. Northeast Quarter (NE/4) of Section Twenty-eight (28), Township Twenty-nine (29) North, Range Three (3) West of the Indian Meridian, Grant County, Oklahoma.
2. South Half (S/2) of the Northwest Quarter (NW/4) of Section Twenty-eight (28), Township Twenty-nine (29) North, Range Three (3) West of the Indian Meridian, Grant County, Oklahoma.
3. Southwest Quarter (SW/4) of Section Eighteen (18), Township Twenty-nine (29) North, Range Three (3) West of the Indian Meridian, Grant County, Oklahoma.
Plaintiffs seek a judgment determining the deaths and heirs of certain decedents, quieting title to the Property, adjudging Plaintiffs’ and known heirs’ respective undivided interests, and barring the Publication Defendants from asserting any right, title, or interest adverse to the title adjudged.
Unless you answer the petition on or before November 25, 2025 judgment will be taken against you and in favor of Plaintiffs as prayed, including determination of death and heirship, quieting of title to the Property, and the barring of adverse claims. (The answer date stated above is at least forty-one (41) days from the date of first publication, as required by 12 O.S. § 2004(C)(3)(c).)
Statutory compliance and authority. This Notice of Publication is issued pursuant to and in compliance with 12 O.S. § 2004(C)(3)(c), which prescribes the required contents of a publication summons and requires publication once each week for three (3) consecutive weeks in a newspaper authorized to publish legal notices in the county where the action is filed. Service by publication is authorized in this quiet-title action affecting real property located in Oklahoma under 12 O.S. § 2004(C)(3) when, after due diligence, the identities or residences of defendants are unknown or cannot be ascertained.
