Construction was originally estimated to be completed in mid-February, but Brooks and Swingle said the project now appears likely to be completed about a month later.

The commission also heard from Billy Holler regarding a water gap along the property line between Holler and a neighboring landowner. Holler expressed concern that cattle could fall into the gap and said she had contacted the sheriff’s office before bringing the matter to the commission.

Commissioner Joe Moore said that if the property owners cannot reach an agreement, the county could address the issue and split the cost between the two landowners. The commissioners agreed to send a letter to the neighboring landowner first and attempt to get a response before considering further action.

Rusty Murphey also appeared before the commission to ask about leasing county airport property for agricultural purposes.
